089-100/365 Bernat CAL Clue #1

by Bernat

I had some difficulty deciding on my colors for this afghan, so I whittled them down to two and decided to do both.

This is my color inspiration for this afghan:

I believe I mentioned that I'm basically in love with the Design Seeds web site, didn't I?

A Question for My Readers

As you know, I'm nearing the 100-square mark in my journey. I've seen on other blogs where they've done collages of the previous 25 square at the 25-, 50-, 75-, etc. I've also seen collages done by type of square, by the afghan for which the squares were made, ...

So, tell me. Is this something you'd like to see? If so, do you have any preference as to how the groupings are made up?

I purposely cheated and worked ahead a bit (see last post), so my squares are done through Sunday. I'll be going away with friends over the weekend. Hopefully that will give you all time to think it over and decide what you'd like to see. (; As they used to say on "Coffee Talk" (old "Saturday Night Live" skit with Mike Myers), "Talk amongst yourselves!" (=

077-088/365 - Bernat CAL Clue #1

by Bernat

Yes, I joined another mystery CAL. There are no photos with the patterns, but each one is charted. SO you have a basic idea of what the finished motif will look like. Also, it's very scripted. You're told to choose 1 main color, 3 coordinating contrast colors, and 1 contrasting color from a different color family. Then you're told exactly how many of each motif to work and in what colors.

This is my color inspiration for this afghan:

I absolutely adore the Design Seeds web site! So many cool color combinations. I can get lost just perusing the pictures.

by Aurora Suominen & Ivory Herman

This square is part of a mystery crochet-along in an email group to which I belong. This is the first square. There have been several patterns released to the group so far ... I have only just finished this one. /= I need to get busy.

072/365 - Center Heart Square

by Ginger Badger

I found the heart awkward after the second round. I frogged twice before giving up and just moving forward. Once I got past the heart and worked on the "square" itself, I was fine.

069/365 - Forest Chains

by Jessica Gil

I love how this one worked up, though I'm less than pleased with how it sizes up. With my standard 39 stitches per side, it's still about 12 1/4" inches long on each side ... but about 11" wide across the middle. I know that putting it into an afghan will stretch the center portion, but it still doesn't make me happy. I don't like puckery squares. /=

066/365 - More V's Please

by Melinda Miller

This was the square chosen for the Sampler Favorites CAL on Ravelry (in the group "afghans & blankets"). I'd had it in my queue already, but this was the perfect excuse to move it up to the top. I really liked it and may make it again in the future.

I saw this done by someone else and decided to give it a go. My color changes didn't work out as planned this time around, so this one will likely be adding to Paisley's blankie. However, I think I know what I need to do. Expect to see this one again soon.
